DEMOCRATS SELECT NEW MINORITY LEADERSHIP.(CAPITAL REGION)

The six members of the Rensselaer County Legislature's Democratic minority made a change in leadership Wednesday evening, unanimously replacing their outspoken leader of the past year and a half -- Robert Mirch -- with Rensselaer businessman Louis Polsinello Jr.

At the same time, the caucus voted to replace Polsinello as deputy minority leader with Poestenkill dairy farmer Keith Hammond, who is in the second year of his freshman term with the legislature.
