Hopes run high for rink: ; Other state cities' skating facilities have fared well

After Charleston decided against bankrolling an ice rink for theKanawha Valley in the face of a tight municipal budget, some criticsthought the city next door was skating on thin ice when it swoopedin and took over the reins.

But it turns out that South Charleston, which is building a $3.6million ice skating facility off Corridor G by the Trace ForkShopping Plaza, may be in the process of landing a triple axel.
